SMP
[site]
[Electro Industrial]
|
| SMP's music has been described as
cyber-punk, a blend of industrial-dance and rap-rock. It's danceable,
aggressive, diverse and complex. Those who appreciate Rage Against the
Machine, Prodigy, KMFDM, Chem Lab, PM5K, Meat Beat Manifesto, 16 Volt
and Ministry will find that SMP has something impressive to offer. SMP's
live show sets the band far apart from its contemporaries and has impressed
thousands of fans across the nation. Furious drumming, grinders throwing
out sparks, and raw punk-rap vocals flow over thumping bass lines and
some funky beats. Think "Blade Runner" meets hip-hop performed punk-rock
style. Photo from SMP HQ website |

| The Centimeters are and eccentric
band from LA, sometimes described as The Addams family meets Kurt Weil.
The Centimeters started their metric rise to infamy in 1996, when Max
Gomberg and Nora Keyes of The Parkas began to collaborate on material
in an effort to produce a more refined sound; they met punk pioneer Don
Bolles of The Germs and Transparency label owner Michael Shepard in 1997.
The Centimeters gained an influential new fan in David J of Bauhaus, who
had them open for Love And Rockets' last shows at the Roxy. In 1998 The
Centimeters met Charles Schneider who had an idea to direct a video for
"I'm Not Exercising Enough." The vi deo was be shot in black and white
film and featured David J and Kyle McCulloch (Tales from Grimley Hospital)
in guest spots. Ultimately the footage was cut to the song "Help is On
the Way," and released in 2001. The current lineup consists of Max Gomberg,
Nora Keyes, Ray Day, Creekbird, Phillip Haut, Rebecca Lynn. Photo provided by The Centimeters |

The Cadavers [site]
[Death Punk]
|
| The Cadavers are a dark, aggressive,
punk rock band from Indianapolis, Indiana. Their aggressive vocals and
shocking lyrical subject matter can only be described as a lesson in blasphemy.

| Local Bands | |
| Last year’s Dark Art’s festival was
their first real performance, but since then they’ve performed at numerous
local events, including the Nightmares Red Cross Benefit and the 2002
Olympics Local Band showcase. Awaiting Treatment plays frenetic and cathartic
electronic industrial with gothic undertones. Although their music is
predominately industrial, their shows are closer to performance art, mixing
in the mysticism of Jason’s haunted rugs with John and Cary’s hard-driven
riffs and Paul’s characteristic intense menacing stage presence. Photo copyright Jeff Carlisle, from the Awaiting Treatment website |

Boundless a.k.a. Über Faction is the focused
efforts of underground electro artists XoN VoX and Fleisch."We are doing
our part to kill mediocrity in this age of mindless monotony. We thrive
on morphing beauty and brutality into ambivalent clockwork." Boundless'
vibrant sound is a unique hybrid of "melodic ebm" and "chromatic industrialism".
Sounds range from slower bass driven seductions, to seizure inducing
beats. Complex sequencing, along with slicing guitar work, curious sampling,
and grinding vox commands create an eerie, yet hypnotic feeling through
every track. Lyrics invoke a realistic irony, aimed right between your
future's eyes. |

| Horror punk in the grand tradition of the Misfits, Die Monster Die maintains a mysterious presence as they hide their 8th Dimensional selves behind spooky horror film masks and decorat ethe stage with gory doll heads. With songs about that pesky problem of getting rid of the body ("A Bag of Limestone, a Crawlspace, and You,") or the delimma of proving your love to the unsentimental ("How Many People Do I Have To Kill Before You Know I Love You,"), they keep tongues firmly in cheek... but whose tongues are those, anyway? You don't want to know... and neither do we! | |

| Domiana is 21st century grand guignol.
Cinematic and dramatic, a soundtrack for the decline and fall. A blend
of goth, industrial, fetish, da DA, surrealism, glam, punk, new wave,
sci-fi, cabaret and subliminal theatre. They are the pariahs and false
prophets of the mechanical apocalypse, with visions of Big Brother, that
ole' time religion and digital heretics. A Pandora's box of poisonous
fantasy. Photo copyright Jeff Carlisle |

and fire breathers dance in your head. Or, in the enigmatic translations
of one German reviewer: these are "very beautiful songs, of princess crocodile,
to move your helicopter heart." Photo provided by Ether. |

Little Sap Dungeon [site]
[Industrial]
|
| Little Sap Dungeon started out in
1997 as an experimental project that was constantly shifting to different
musical classifications. However, "industrial" had always been the key
factor from the get-go. With icons such as Skinny Puppy, Coil, Ministry,
Leaether Strip and Godflesh, the finger has always been pointed towards
the machine generated rhythms and the dark, yet noisy atmospherical backgrounds.
At least we had that much going for us. We definitely knew our sound was
evil. The best feedback we ever got from anyone was people that said it
sounds like we were trying to make a horror movie soundtrack. Image provided by Little Sap Dungeon |

Phono [site]
[Melodic Industrial]
|
|
| Phono has been compared by many of
the musically uninspired as a mixture between Nine Inch Nails and Depeche
Mode. Those who know the music have described it as a "visceral kick in
the balls." Phono describes it as "melodic industrial." What ever you
want to call it, the live show is something that needs to be seen. Frontman
joe ashton wrote and composed all tracks. With the help of some extremely
talented musicians (6 members in all), he brings his music to the live
stage. Image from the Phono website |

Violet Run [site]
[Gothic Pop]
|
|
| Violet Run is a dark, melting glide
of melodic melancholia reminiscent of early 80's Cure and Bauhaus. They
blend the softness of early gothic with the rage and horror of its modern
evolution. Dark and moody, yet very melodic and listenable, Violet Run
sucks you in like a seductive maelstrom, churning away at the valleys
of your soul, softly drowning you to death in an angst devoid of artifice.

| My designs fit in numerous categories. Anything from Gothic, to 80's, to "Wow! that's different!" Handmade, custom fit, and alterations. I mostly design women's clothing since I'm just starting out as and entrepreneur in the clothing business, although I can make any article of clothing for men as well. I've been interested into fashion and sewing for the last six years, and feel it's my "niche" in life. I get my inspiration from my favorite designers Dolce & Gabbana, as well as movies, magazines, and things I see in everyday life. | |

| "Most of my influence derives from surrealism and most of the Avant Garde movements. I mostly like to work with etching and pen & ink mediums. I also try not to restrict myself to just one kind of medium for a single work. As far as subject matter goes, I try to invoke some kind of reaction. I would rather someone absolutely hate my work than to be impartial to it." | |
